LFCE Certificate Program for IT Professionals Helps Broaden Business Skills
Recently, LFCE delved deep into the challenges functional experts are facing in today’s lean, globally competitive organizations. LFCE’s 2006 research study on the topic produced the popular white paper, Unleash the Business Potential of Your Technical Experts.
Another direct result of LFCE’s research is the Business Leadership Certificate Program for IT Professionals. The inaugural program in this series was conducted in November and December of 2006. Attended by high-level IT professionals from companies including Allstate, Abbott, Avon, Ecker Enterprises, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Grainger, HSBC, True Value, and Volkswagen Credit, the program was a genuine success.
During five days of training (conducted in two modules scheduled one month apart), participants gain specific knowledge and skills in a variety of areas tailored to the perspective of IT professionals. These include the use of consulting techniques to build business partnerships, communication skills, creating value by understanding financial implications, the ability to influence others, and aligning IT initiatives with corporate strategy.
Another of the program’s unique features is that participants receive individual coaching sessions to maximize their ability to adapt, integrate, and implement the skills they have learned and to set and implement goals as a result of their new abilities.
In response to demand, this certificate program was presented again in June/July, 2007. A customized version is also available that allows companies to tailor this program to the unique needs of their specific organizations and IT strategies.
